Adam Scott has won his eighth PGA Tour title at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio on Sunday (local time).
Beginning the final day one with a one-stroke lead, the Australian shot a dominant five-under 65 to finish at 17 under and claim the tournament by a comfortable four shots from American Ricky Fowler and British world number two Luke Donald.
With Tiger Woods' former caddie Steve Williams by his side for the first time since splitting with the former world number one, Scott led the event from start to finish and always appeared to be in control on Sunday with a bogey-free performance.
He was steady rather than scintillating on the front nine, but came home with a string of birdies to show the type of composure that will see him start as one of the favourites at this week's PGA Championship.
It was Scott's biggest win since his Players Championship title in 2004.
Jason Day underlined his burgeoning reputation with another strong display to finish tied for fourth at 12 under, while fellow Australian Aaron Baddeley equalled the best final round with Scott and took a share of 11th place overall at eight under.
