A flawless final round has delivered Paul Lawrie a second Commercialbank Qatar Masters presented by Dolphin Energy title - 13 years after he first won the tournament.
The Scotsman returns to the world top 50 on the back of an impressive fourth-round display in which he never appeared overly threatened, extending the gap on his nearest overnight rivals as only Jason Day made a genuine leaderboard surge.
Lawrie posted a seven-under round of 65 on Sunday (February 5) to reach 15 under overall. His day featured an eagle at the par-five ninth hole and four birdies on the back nine to consolidate his position.
Meanwhile Australia's world number ten Day shot nine birdies and two bogeys on his way to an entertaining 65 - enough to finish in a share of second with Peter Hanson without seriously putting Lawrie's lead at risk.
Day began Sunday with four straight birdies and repeated the feat at the beginning of the back nine.
Swede Hanson carded a five-under 67, while American John Daly finished fourth at nine under.
But the spoils went to Lawrie who was more than pleased with his efforts in closing out the event.
"I don't think I can play much better than that," he said.
"I've been playing well for a long, long time, but it's just nice to come out one ahead and shoot seven under."
