The undisputed number one female player in the world, Yani Tseng, has sent a message to her rivals by claiming that her astounding 2011 season is now in the past, with her focus turned to improving her game and claiming more silverware in 2012.
"Last year is over. This is a new year for me," she said yesterday.
Tseng is preparing for this week's Women's Australian Open, where she will attempt to win the tournament for the third time in a row.
And far from being content with total dominance of her competition over the past 12 months, Tseng believes some minor adjustments to her game have made her an even better player.
Already a powerful hitter off the tee, the Taiwanese superstar has remodelled her swing to be even stronger.
"I have more power. I don't swing as hard as before. I feel I am swinging easier and striking the ball better," she stated.
An impressive field will gather at Royal Melbourne this week and attempt to find an answer to the Tseng juggernaut.
The 23-year-old had not played at the course until practice rounds over the past few days, but will start the tournament a firm favourite.
