WGC Match-ups begin today

Marana, Arizona hosts the World Golf Championships (WGC) Accenture Match Play, beginning today (February 22 2012) with 64 of the best players in the world.

The 32 first-round matches are likely to produce some dramatic entertainment as big names pepper the board.

World number one Luke Donald enters the tournament as defending champion - his performance there last year began a string of victories that helped boost him into his current top-ranking position.

Tiger Woods, who has three Match Play wins under his belt, will square off against Gonzalo Fdez-Castano - a Spaniard recently quoted as saying Tiger has not been at his best and is beatable.

Australian Geoff Oglivy and American Keegan Bradley will also be an interesting match-up. Ogilvy comes in with experience - winning the event twice and being runner-up another time - and Bradley is fresh off an explosive second place performance in Riviera.

Six men will represent Australia including world numbers seven and eight Jason Day and Adam Scott, respectively, as well as worthy contenders Greg Chalmers, John Senden and Aaron Baddeley.
