The FG Tour golf ball, designed for the competitive
golfer, joins the forged family of Wilson Staff equipment . This
three-piece, multi-layer ball is a low-compression distance golf ball
covered in a thin, soft veneer of urethane to deliver maximum traction
control for iron and wedge shots. It has a 75 compression rating and
features a 318-dimple pattern on its cast urethane cover. The FG Tour is
Wilsons softest, highest-spinning multi-piece urethane ball and was
created as a low compression solution for competitive players looking for
tour-caliber spin, maximum greenside control and excellent distance. In
internal testing, the Wilson Staff FG Tour golf ball has tested with
longer and straighter ball flights than other leading premium golf balls.

Today, Wednesday the 20th October 2010, was the first round I had teed up the new “FG Tour Urethane” golf ball. Having been a “Titleist Pro V1x” user prior to this date, never wanting to change, it wasn’t until I renewed my Drummond Club membership and they provided me with a letter entitling me to a free box of “D:25” golf balls that I went into my nearest store, Ashmore and looked at the range of Wilson Staff balls.
With my current AGU Handicap of +3 the “D:25” was not suitable for my game, the team at Drummond Golf were happy to provide me with a box of “FG Tour Urethane” balls if I paid the difference of $20.00, this I was happy to do.
As I practice and play every single day, this is in preparation of me attending the PGA of Australasia Tour Qualifying School in December, I thought it only appropriate that I go down to my club this afternoon and try these new balls out.
I am very much a soft ball, especially for my chipping and putting, kind of golfer, the reaction of the “FG Tour Urethane” golf ball from the first tee shot was impressive, similar feel to the “Pro V1x” and I was happy.
My second shot with a wedge had the same response that I expected from the aforementioned. When I lined up my putt and struck it with my KC 3 Wilson Staff Putter, the feel, the sound and the roll was what I had hoped for.
Now I normally have to change my “Pro V1x” every third hole, this is expensive as you can imagine, yet twelve holes later my “FG Tour Urethane” was in great condition. I few slight wear marks yet nothing like the paint missing and chunks out of the ball like the old Titleist.
Basically the “FG Tour Urethane” golf ball has won me.
Feel free to visit my website via – www.nickylitherland.com and follow my progress from now and beyond. In my “In The Bag” section of my site I have changed my ball to the “FG Tour Urethane”.
Kind Regards
Nicky Litherland
