Adidas Golf leap into 2021 with ZG21. It’s a new category of spiked footwear ushering in the latest era in lightweight golf shoes.
Presenting a sleek design, the exciting ZG21 was created after adidas committed nearly two years in production to finish the product they felt got everything right. Adidas says the high-performance spiked shoe gives all golfers a lightweight and is extremely comfortable without any compromises.
ZG21 feature adidias BOOST cushioning and is up to 20% lighter than the company’s comparable spiked models. BOOST coupled with Lightstrike technology offers golfers lightweight comfort and stability with every golf swing and step. Lightstrike is a first in golf and has been used in Basketball and Tennis to provide athletes with better shock absorption and quick recovery.
World No. 1 Dustin Johnson raved about ZG21, “I couldn’t believe how light these were when I put them on. I’ve worn adidas shoes my entire career and it’s amazing how the team was able to reduce the weight so much while still keeping the great comfort, traction and stability. Players of all skill levels will benefit from what ZG21 has to offer.”
2020 PGA Champion Colin Morikawa provided more validation, “We walk a ton over the course of a tournament and for me, what stands out the most is how comfortable they are. I wore them all week at Kapalua, which is one of, if not the longest walk we have all year, and my feet felt great. Throw in how light they are with the traction and stability you get, and it easily makes ZG21 one of the best shoes adidas has available.”
ZG21 uses an ultra-light stability fin to provide a locked-in feel throughout the swing. The durable TPU insert is positioned in the lateral sidewall for increased lateral stability.
Innovative textiles and polyurethane films combine to make up Sprintskin. The four-layer upper is lightweight and waterproof for ultimate performance.
Golfers require maximum traction where it’s most needed, whether they are walking on undulating ground or, swinging the club. Based on heat-map studies, adidas developed Swingplane Traction to target the areas that required grip the most.
ZG21 contains six strategically placed cleats and comes in four models: men’s laced, men’s and women’s BOA Fit and an easy to use laced system for junior golfers.
