Bradley Wins BMW Championship. Scott & Davis Top 5

Keegan Bradley scored a one-shot victory at the BMW Championship staged at Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado. The 38-year-old, who managed a bogey at the final hole, produced the narrow win over Australia’s Adam Scott, Sweden’s Ludvig Aberg and compatriot Sam Burns.

Bradley opened the PGA TOUR’s penultimate FedExCup Playoff event with a superb bogey free 6-under 66. It was the 11th time Bradley led the field after 18 holes. He was 0 from 10 attempts at converting his early lead into a win. Bradley followed up his hot start with rounds of 68, 70 and 72 to reach 12-under.

Australia’s Adam Scott moved in to the lead after 36 holes when he fired a sizzling 9-under 63 in round two. The 44-year-old tour veteran was searching for his 15th PGA TOUR title. Scott carded rounds of 74 and 72 over the weekend to finish at 11-under—one shot short of Bradley’s winning score. Scott shared the runner up finish with Burns and Aberg. Burns posted the best score on Sunday with a 7-under 65. Aberg rounded out his event with a 1-under 71.

Cam Davis took a share of fifth place at 8-under after signing for a stunning 6-under 66 on Sunday. Jason Day was the other Australian in the top 50 field. Day finished in a tie for 33rd place at 1-over.

The top 30 in the FedExCup standings after the BMW Championship advance to next week’s final PGA TOUR event of the season—the TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club, Atlanta, Georgia. Adam Scott used his runner up finish this week to advance from 41st to 14th on the FedExCup points table. Scott is the only Australian who will compete at East Lake for the massive US$25 million bonus for winning the 2024 FedExCup. Day’s season ended in 33rd place. Davis was three spots back at 36th position.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is ranked No. 1 heading to the TOUR Championship with Xander Schauffele (2), Hideki Matsuyama (3), Bradley (4) and Aberg (5).
