Bryson DeChambeau produced another crushing round of golf on a Sunday to win LIV Golf Chicago. The long-hitting American fired a sizzling final round 8-under 63 to reach 13-under at Rich Harvest Farms to overcome Australia’s Marc Leishman and India’s Anirban Lahiri by one shot. DeChambeau was eight shots back at one stage during the final round. In August this year, DeChambeau blitzed the field by six shots to win LIV Golf Greenbrier after producing an incredible 58 in the final round.
DeChambeau, who will bank the US$4million winner’s cheque, has moved to third on the individual player standings for this LIV season.
Leishman collected his best finish for the year taking the runner up position on a count back with Lahiri. Both players finished at 12-under. The Victorian posted a 5-under 66 final round. Lahiri, who bogeyed his final hole to miss forcing the event into a playoff, carded 2-under 69.
Sebastian Munoz took a three-shot lead into Sunday. The Spaniard finished one shot further back at 11-under after signing for a disappointing 2-over 73 final round.
The Crushers GC won the Team event by three shots over the Fireballs GC. Led by team Captain DeChambeau and well-supported by teammate Lahiri, the Crushers also includes England’s Paul Casey and America’s Charles Howell III.
