Doyle & Schofield Win Drummond Golf Cup Tasmania Championships
On Friday November 1, Bernadette Doyle and Matt Schofield added the 2024 Drummond Golf Cup Tasmania Championship at the Claremont Golf Club to their respective golfing resumes. Doyle collected the Women's title with a solid stableford score of 35 points. Past Drummond Golf Cup National champion Jo Blacklow finished five points back in solo second place. Debbie Taylor and Jayne Ramsay were placed next down the line. Schofield fired the best score of the entire field to take out the Men's Championship in a tight finish. Schofield produced 39 points to overcome runner up Mark Chandler by one point. Three players finished another point further back on 37 points; Darren Clark, Kallum Hiller and James Holmes.
Doyle and Schofield will head to the mainland for the Drummond Golf Cup National Final to be staged at the magnificent Peninsula Kingswood Golf Club on December 3, 2024.
Brett Ogle was on hand to manage the day. The Drummond Golf Ambassador also helped to raise funds for Lifeline Australia. The event collected more than $1,200 for Lifeline Australia.
