ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia - 2021 Gippsland Super 6 - Event Completed
Fraser Claims Gippsland Super 6 Crown
Australia’s Marcus Fraser returned to the winner’s circle after victory at the Gippsland Super 6.
The 42-year-old tour veteran overcame Swiss rookie Alessandro Noseda by one shot in the six-hole final at Yallourn Golf Club. It was Fraser’s first victory since claiming the European Tour’s Maybank Championship in Malaysia in 2016.
After a number of years with it ups and downs, Fraser was thrilled to share his latest victory with his family. “I promised the kids they could see the trophy before they go to bed so I’ll do that,” said Fraser. He went on, “I genuinely love playing golf and it's great to be back out on the course competing. That's what we do. That's our DNA, what we love doing."
Fraser reached the two-man final after scoring wins in the matchplay rounds over Andrew Martin, Josh younger and Bryden Macpherson.
The ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia moves on to Rosebud Country Club. Former US Open champion Geoff Ogilvy will host the inaugural event in The Players Series.
