GOLF TIP by Nadene Gole Former Tour player & winner on the European Tour
Butt-Out Power Position Good posture is vital in order to swing the club with maximum clubhead speed.
IMAGE 1
To establish a sound forward tilt toward the ground, bend forward from the hips until your shoulders hang in line with your toes. Stick your butt out as if you were sitting at a barstool. This position will straighten your spine, which will allow you to make a full shoulder turn. The ‘butt-out’ position also helps to place you the correct distance from the ball enabling your arms to hang freely and without tension.
IMAGE 2
AVOID... If your back is rounded, this limits the amount of rotation in your swing.
IMAGE 3
TRY THIS... Grab a club, hold the shaft to your back so that the grip-end sits on your tailbone. Ensure the shaft stays in contact with your back.
