Practise Around the Clock
If you’ve got the time, the clockwork drill is one of the best practice methods to work on holing short putts. And it’s straightforward too.
Grab a dozen balls and set each one on the hour three feet from the hole. Be sure to choose a hole location with slope, that way you’ll face every kind of putt: uphill, downhill, left to right and right to left.
This drill will also encourage you to apply your putting routine, since you’ll have to change position to stroke each putt.
And if you want to get competitive, treat your first putt as one o’clock and see how many consecutive hours you can go without a miss. A good challenge to start with is 24 hours—twice around the clock.
