PGA TOUR - The American Express - Event Completed
Kim Wins American Express. Aussie Davis Close
Si Woo Kim collected his third PGA Tour title at The American Express.
The 25-year-old Korean produced a flawless final round 8-under 64 to reach 23-under at La Quinta, California.
Kim trailed clubhouse leader Patrick Cantlay by one shot with three holes to play. The 2017 PLAYERS Champion birdied the 16th and 17th holes to score a narrow victory by one shot.
Cantlay fired an incredible 11-under 61 on Sunday including holing a 38-foot birdie putt at the 72nd hole to get in to contention. It was the lowest ever score recorded on the Stadium Course at PGA West. The 28-year-old American fired a remarkable 20 birdies over the final two rounds—the most at a PGA Tour event (non Major) since 1983.
Australian Cameron Davis produced his best result on the PGA Tour. The 25-year-old former Australian Open champion finished in third place after he carded a final round 8-under 64 to get to 20-under.
Next week the PGA Tour heads to Torrey Pines, California, where another Australian Marc Leishman will defend the Farmers Insurance Open.
