2024 Drummond Golf Cup - WA Championship
Neems & Loi Punch Their Ticket To Drummond Golf Cup Final
Winning a Drummond Golf Cup State Championship comes with its perks! And, Dot Neems along with Teik Kim Loi are the latest state champions who will enjoy the fruits of their big wins in Western Australia at Mandurah Country Club on Sunday August 11. After claiming their respective state titles at the DGC WA Championship, the pair earned themselves a trip to Victoria where they will experience a couple of incredible days at the impressive Peninsula-Kingswood Country Club in December this year. The ‘sandgropers’ will be among the 14 state champions (7 women & 7 men), who will be competing at the Drummond Golf Cup National Final.
Neems, who hails from Mandurah Country Club, used her local knowledge to post 36 points to win the Women’s title in a count back over fellow MCC member Steph Reynolds. Thi Deep Thanh To from the Western Australian Golf Club produced 34 points to finish in third place. Defending DGC WA champion and Joondalup Country Club member Catherine Raes finished in fourth place with 33 points.
Loi fired the best stableford tally of the day to easily win the Men’s division with an astounding 44 points. Van Nguyen from Mount Lawley Golf Club carded 41 points to secure second place. Three players scored 39 points; Steve Gullotti, Anthony Duckmanton and Ryley Szostak.
Brett Ogle, one of Australia’s most familiar and charismatic golfers, was on hand to manage the day. The Drummond Golf Ambassador also helped to raise funds for Lifeline Australia. The event raised $3,625 for Lifeline Australia.
