Glide 4.0 Wedges

PING have launched the Glide 4.0 wedge series—it’s an exciting specialty wedge family loaded with performance, which will appeal to all golfers.

Glide 4.0 is the latest generation of wedges by PING. The premium golf manufacturer designed Glide 4.0 to deliver golfers lower-launching, higher-spinning performance into and around the greens.

At first glance, the look of Glide 4.0 is stunning. The suite of wedges offers a compact and rounded head shape with a refined profile. It’s a sophisticated set up that provides a confident look at address.

Glide 4.0 features a multi-material construction that combines 8620 carbon steel with a larger and softer elastomer insert. This make up provides a soft and responsive feel off the clubface. Each wedge boasts a precision-milled face and grooves with a new Emery face blast. Engineers added the new textured face blast to the hitting area to produce higher friction and greater interaction between the club and the ball. This technological advancement increases ball spin and helps lower launch for better control. The higher-lofted wedges (54-60 degrees) are milled with a tighter radius to impart greater spin to better assist finesse shots and blasts from the sand.

Glide 4.0 include four different sole grind options (S, W, E and T) for maximum versatility and are designed to best match your angle of attack and usual turf conditions. S Grind suits most golfers with its rounded lead edge, trail edge with heel relief and contains plenty of bounce. W Grind offers a traditional full-sole design with a rounded leading edge. It has been optimised for bunker shots and is the most forgiving wedge through the turf. E Grind includes a high-toe and improved lead-edge shaping with a dished sole and tapered hosel for bunker performance. And, T Grind presents high lead-edge bounce, half-moon sole shaping and increased center bounce width. The S and T Grind offer a smaller clubhead for added confidence and greater versatility in shot making. The W and E Grinds are built with larger heads for more forgiveness. Across the entire suite, there are 17 grind/loft options.
