i59 Irons
With great anticipation, PING has released the i59 Iron to the broader golfing community. The custom-built blades have already being associated with success on Tour. In June, Viktor Hovland became the first Norwegian to claim a European Tour (Men’s) title at the BMW International Open. And, most recently, American Johannes Veerman took out the Czech Masters on August 22.
PING i59 irons are built with a multi-material construction and contain a forged carbon steel body, a stainless steel laser-cut face, an aluminum insert and tungsten weights.
The Tour-validated PING i59 iron offers a sleek forged blade look that will appeal to better golfers. They also boasts unprecedented forgiveness in a blade-style design that will attract golfers of all skill levels.
The additional forgiveness arrives from the use of AlumiCore™ —it’s a patent-pending technology that allows material to be redistributed in the clubhead for improved performance. AlumiCore™ features an aerospace-grade aluminum insert that lets 30 grams of mass to be taken from the center of the head and re-located to the perimeter in the form of toe and shaft tip weights. This precision manufacturing process is applied to each iron individually, as every iron in the set requires a different size of aluminum core.
PING engineers adopted MicroMax™ to improve all-round groove performance—with the priority to reduce ‘fliers’ in the short irons and maintain ball spin in the longer irons. Each iron includes a precision-machined face with MicroMax™ for tighter groove spacing. This cleverly designed spacing creates an average of four additional grooves on each club, which provides greater control and shot consistency from all conditions.
PING i59 is available in 3-PW.
