2024 Drummond Golf Cup - VICTORIAN Championship
Turner and Lane Prevail at Keysborough GC To Reach The Drummond Golf Cup Final
On Monday November 11, Catherine Turner and Tony Lane claimed titles at the Drummond Golf Cup Victorian Championships to grab the last two spots to compete at the Drummond Golf Cup National Final. The season-finale will to be staged at the magnificent Peninsula Kingswood Golf Club on December 3, 2024.
Turner, a member at Tirhatuan Park Golf Club, used her 16 handicap to amass a solid stableford score of 35 points and win the Women's Individual title. Defending champion Mary Robertson narrowly missed a repeat of last year's victory at The Heritage and settled for solo second place with 34 points. Salli-Ann Lee and Julie King each posted 32 points.
Lane eclipsed the field to win the Men's Championship firing a sensational 43 points. The 19-marker at Rosanna Golf Club was a clear winner over runner up Jamie Dunnion, who carded a healthy 40 points. Gavin Campbell staked third place with 39 points. And, George Gioras finished one-point further back to finish in fourth place.
Drummond Golf Ambassador Brett Ogle was on hand to manage the day. The former PGA TOUR winner also helped to raise funds for Lifeline Australia. The event collected more than $1,600 for Lifeline Australia.
