Hideki Matsuyama
2021 The Masters
Hideki Matsuyama made history by becoming the first player from Japan to win The Masters after scoring a one shot victory over American Will Zalatoris. The Japanese star’s latest success at Augusta National Golf Club arrives a decade after he claimed the low amateur award at his debut appearance at the major in 2011.
The Srixon staffer carded rounds of 69, 71, 65 and 73 to reach 10-under for the event.
This season, Matsuyama has been using the more forgiving and higher launching Srixon ZX5 model driver.
The 29-year-old is best-known for his supreme ball striking. He is ranked inside the top 10 on the PGA Tour every year since 2014 for Strokes Gained: Approach the Green. He carries a suite of Srixon Z-Forged irons in his bag.
