Rory McIlroy
2021 Wells Fargo Championship
Rory McIlroy captured his 19th PGA Tour win at the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow, North Carolina. He now owns three Wells Fargo titles.
The win marks four years from the date McIlroy signed a lucrative long-term deal to join TaylorMade.
The 32-year-old former world No. 1 used his TaylorMade SIM2 driver to rank second in the field for driving distance. Powered by his SIM2 with its speed injected twist face, the four-time major winner averaged a massive 324.4 yards from the tee.
McIlroy ranked T3 in the field for the week in Greens in Regulation (75%). And, when he did miss a green he was superb in scrambling for a par! The Northern Irishman produced some sizzling short game recovery shots. Using TaylorMade Milled Grind 2 Wedges featuring ultra-sharp grooves, McIlroy was second in the field for getting up and down.
With his win, McIlroy jumped 37 places to 17th in the FedExCup standings.
