Miller & Pereira Win Drummond Golf Cup ACT Championship
Claire Miller and Danny Pereira punched their ticket to the Drummond Golf Cup National Final after scoring narrow wins at the DGC ACT Championship. Miller and Pereira will compete at the coveted final on December 3 at the stunning Peninsula-Kingswood Country Golf Club, Victoria.
Miller and Pereira fought off strong competition with a total field of 100 golfers participating on Sunday April 7 at Fairbairn Golf Club.
Miller won the Women’s individual stableford event with 35 points. The Yowani Golf Club member held off fellow club member Sarah Powell by one point. Powell claimed outright second place with 34 points. Local Fairbairn Golf Club member Kay Ferguson took third place with 33 points.
Pereira produced the best stableford score of the entire field with 40 points. Pereira overcame Joel Heit (39) and Ryan Williams (39 points) by one point. Heit, a member at Gungahlin Lakes Golf Club claimed runner up on a countback.
Drummond Golf Ambassador Brett Ogle was on hand at the par 3, 13th hole to raise funds for Lifeline Australia. The event raised approximately $3,200 for Lifeline Australia.
