What’s In My Bag
Cam Davis
2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic
Cam Davis outlasted Troy Merritt at the fifth extra hole to win his maiden PGA Tour title at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
The 26-year-old Australian now owns three wins as a professional after claiming the 2017 Australian Open and the 2018 Nashville Golf Open on the Korn Ferry Tour.
Davis, who was fully-decked out in Titleist gear, got to 18-under at Detriot Golf Club in Michigan after firing rounds of 68, 68, 67 and 67.
The young Sydney-sider poured in 23 birdies over the 72 holes of regulation play to rank second in the field for Most Birdies. Davis led the field in Shots Gained: Tee-to-Green. The lanky long-hitter was 10th in Driving Distance averaging 299.1 yards, which included bombing a massive drive of 345 yards on the final day. And, he recovered par or better seven times from eight attempts from the sand. This included holing out a miraculous bunker shot for an eagle at the 71st hole to vault him into a share of the lead.
With his win, Davis moved to 34th in the FedExCup standings.
